Sandringham is the Queen's Norfolk country house, and Norfolk’s most famous country house. It is set in 600-acres of woodland country park and has a museum and gift shop.
The ground floor of the house is open to the public and has wheel chair accessibility. The rooms are still used by the royal family and are fully furnished in an Edwardian style with portraits of the royal family hanging on the walls.
There’s also a museum which has vintage motor vehicles including a 1900 Daimler Phaeton and describes the history of Sandringham and its occupants through the years.
If you just wish to visit the Country park there is no charge and parking is free. As well as several well-worn signed walks, and many lesser known paths, there is also a tractor ride during high season.
If visiting in the winter, check to see if there’s a temporary ice rink.
